Our first “Hello” to the blogging world !!!!

We are a couple on an expedition to explore new places and letting the world know about our journey and other experiences.

We consider our travel as an adventure, hence the name of our blog!  So we are Travelling our way to find out new experiences and capture those moments to cherish forever !!

Let us start the journey…

Our first blog is about our visit to this resort called “The Serai”. They have multiple chains, We visited the one in Kabini.

Kabini is located in Karnataka state about 215 kms from Bangalore by road. A good 4 to 5 hrs Drive. Its about 60 Kms from Mysore. The Kabini Forest Reserve is one of the most popular wildlife destinations of Karnataka.

While exploring options about our stay in Kabini, we came across lot of them. But we wanted to try The Serai Resort this time. This is located close to the Kabini river and gives a beautiful view of the same from the resort.

We finally made it to the resort a little earlier than our check in time. We were received with a warm welcome by the courteous staff right from the entrance of this resort !!

DSC_6513.jpgWe did check out the library where they have some pretty amazing books on wildlife and other genres, grabbed a couple of them to read in our spare time.

We were awestruck by the mesmerizing and amazing ambiance of this place.  This was one of the best views one can get stepping out of lobby.

This was the serene view overlooking the Kabini river from our balcony !!! Beautiful, isn’t it??

As we were still soaking in beauty of the Kabini river from our room, we almost forgot that we were hungry so we headed out for lunch.

Wild Grass, is the name of the restaurant. It was huge and spacious enough to accommodate large group of people. Decor and ambience were brilliant. Staff were courteous and very friendly. They took care of us and our requirements very well. They have two options for Lunch and dinner, Buffet spread and A la carte. We chose buffet option.

A sneak peek at most items served that day

We were quite skeptical about the taste, but to our surprise all the dishes were bang on!! They were so delicious. They had a wide spread of both local as well as international cuisines to choose from. One surprising fact was that each dish had its authenticity well maintained. We were very happy with the food and decided to meet and compliment the chef.

Post lunch we had booked the Nagarhole Jungle Safari through the resort and were eagerly waiting for the adventure to begin. There were separate charges for the safari from resort as they were not included in the package which we took.

We spotted quite a few animals and birds, but we were lucky enough to spot a leopard with kill !!! This was a rare moment for us and it was very thrilling experience to see a leopard with its prey live !!

We managed to capture this beautiful view of the resort at night.

We woke up pretty early the next morning to enjoy the sunrise. We decided relax and made a visit to the spa. It was a peaceful experience, a much-needed break from the city stress. They have various options to choose from; we tried their Aroma therapy and Estate message. Staff are well trained and courteous. Post lunch we decided to explore the property around.

One good thing about this resort is that they provide bicycles to roam around in the premises; they also have bicycle trails all around the resort. We were very happy to use them. Took us back to memories of our childhood.

We then decided to visit their Open air bar called The Outpost before heading to dinner.

A quiet place for a relaxing evening !!! We headed back to our room post dinner and decided to read the books which I had borrowed from the library earlier.

Next day was our checkout, so we woke up early and decided to ride on bicycle trails close to the Kabini river.

They do take the residents of the resort for boating and kayaking depending on the weather conditions. Finally we had our breakfast at Wild Grass restaurant and were all set to check out from the resort.

It was an amazing experience at Serai where there was luxury and comfort on one hand and peace amidst nature on the other. Kabini is one such place we would love to visit again 🙂

Hope you had a good read 🙂 Please leave a comment below. We will be back with more such travel stories and adventures and yeah do subscribe us 🙂
