Hello to all my readers! This would be my first food blog from outside Karnataka. Yes, I traveled to Mumbai couple of months back and visited quite a lot of eateries there. I am a tad bit late about blogging it 🙂
Mumbai has huge gamut of food diversity. Their street food is one of the best bet!
I had to try their local delicacies Misal Pav, Pani Puri, Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji and so on to name a few. Amidst these wonderful deliciousness, I also wanted to try their restaurants. My friends recommended me a restaurant called “Hitchki”. I visited their Powai Outlet. Location is apt on Google maps.
Ambience:
Ambience was totally marvellous! Modern decor with high rise chairs gives a feel good factor to the place. I personally liked a wall which had old school typewriters and telephones, adds to the ambience.
Drinks to start with :
We started with couple of drinks from their Mocktail menu. He-Man and Minion. He-Man is a Red Bull based drink and Minion is Guava and watermelon based one. I personally liked Minion better.
Starters :
We visited this place for lunch and were already hungry, ordered Bhatti ka Paneer and Masala Peanut Cornetto. Paneer was soft and succulent with flavours bang on!
Masala Peanut Cornetto, this was very uniquely presented. Papad cones filled with Masala Peanut which tasted too good.
Main Course :
For main course, I wanted to try their fusion cuisine of Italian and Asian, A Veg Thai Curry Risotto and my friend ordered Indian Cuisine, Butter te Chicken with choice of bread. This was something new to me, I love Thai curry and Italian flavours but was skeptical about the combination of both. Flavours worked very well, they were fresh and blend was flawless. My friend was quite impressed with Butter te Chicken and soft Rotis which accompanied it well. Overall a filling main course.
Desserts :
At last the final course of meal, Desserts. We chose to order their most presentable dish. Banoffee Bomb, Chocolate globe centered with Banana cake and topped with Vanilla ice cream and a hot sauce is poured to create a theatrical effect. Baratiyo Ka Swagat, Dutch Truffle topped with Pan flavoured souffle and pan pasand crushed candy topped with sugar spun nest much like a wedding mantap. Both the desserts were splendid to look at! I personally liked Banoffee Bomb out of the two.
Overall Experience :
This experience was different as it was in a complete different city! Mumbai… The staff were very good and they took care of our requests quite well. The ambience added much to our experience!
I would love to hear from you all. Do leave a comment below if you have been to this restaurant and also your favourites. A must try from this place is Banoffee Bomb and Veg Thai Curry Risotto (If you like Asian and Italian Cuisine).
