Our first “Hello” to the blogging world !!!!

We are a couple on expedition to explore new places and letting the world know about our stay and other experiences.

We consider our travel as an adventure, hence the name  So we are Travelling our way to find out new experiences and capture those moments to cherish forever !!

Let us start the journey,

Our first blog is about our experience and stay in this resort called “The Serai”. They have multiple chains, We visited the one in Kabini.

Kabini is located in Karnataka state about 215 Kms from Bangalore by road. A good 4 to 5 hrs Drive. Its closer to Mysore about 60 Kms. The Kabini Forest Reserve is one of the most popular wildlife destinations of Karnataka.

We were awestruck by the mesmerizing and amazing ambiance of this place.  This was the best view one can get stepping out of lobby.

As we were still soaking in our room, we almost forgot that we were hungry in the first place so we headed out for lunch.

Wildgrass, is the name of the restaurant. It was huge and spacious to accommodate large group of people as well. Decor and ambience were brilliant. Staff were courteous and very friendly. They took care of us and our requirements very well. They have two options for Lunch and dinner, Buffet spread and A la carte. We chose buffet option.

A sneak view of majority of items served that day

We were quite skeptical about the taste, but for our surprise all the dishes were bang on!! They were so delicious. They had a wide spread of both local as well as international cuisines to choose from. One surprising fact is that each dish had its authenticity well maintained. We were very happy with the food and decided to meet and compliment the chef.

That’s me with Chef Vikas 🙂

Post lunch we had booked Nagarhole jungle safari through resort and were eagerly waiting for the adventure to begin. There are separate charges for the safari from resort as they are not included in the package which we took.

We spotted quite a few animals and birds, but we were lucky enough to spot a leopard with kill !!! This is a rare moment very thrilling experience to see a leopard with its prey live !!
After a fruitful safari we headed back to the resort.

We managed to capture this beautiful view of the resort at night  We were extremely tired and called it a night.

We woke up pretty early next morning to enjoy the sunrise. We decided relax and made a visit to the spa. It was a peaceful experience, much needed break. They have various options on menu, we tried their Aroma therapy and estate message. Staff are well trained and courteous. Post lunch we decided to explore the property around. One good thing about this resort is that they provide bicycles to roam around in the premises. We were very happy to use them. Took us back to memories of our childhood

Venky enjoying his bicycle ride

Took some amazing sunset pictures. The colors of sky were so mesmerizing.

We then decided to visit their Open air bar called The Outpost before heading to dinner.

We took this Picture during day time, since during night it was pretty dark.

Staff here was very friendly and took care of us very well. A quiet place for a relaxing evening !!! We headed back to our room post dinner and decided to read books which i had borrowed from the library earlier.

Next day was our Checkout, we woke up early and decided to ride on bicycle trails close to Kabini river provided by the resort.
